Community Investment

At Enbridge, we believe a community belongs to everyone who lives there.
And no matter who we are or where we live, all of us want to make life better for our families, our friends, our neighbours and ourselves. We engage – as citizens and as corporations – because we want to make our communities, safer, healthier, greener and more inspiring.

Directed this social vision statement, Enbridge helps build communities across its operating regions in Canada and the U.S. with a focus in three core areas:

Our perspective is holistic. Over the past decade, Enbridge has invested over $60 million across a diverse spectrum of initiatives aimed at strengthening our communities. In 2013, we invested close to $14 million in charitable, non-profit, and community organizations, benefiting more than 750 groups in Canada and the United States.

At the end of the day, Enbridge gives for the same reasons as all those who share their time, talent and resources: passion and compassion. A desire to serve. A desire to be part of something bigger. We give because it’s the right thing to do. Because we live here, too. Because we’re all in this together.

We also look for ways for our employees to get involved in community programs, and we support them as they make contributions to organizations that are important to them. We encourage employee voluntarism through Volunteers in Partnership, a program that supports the organizations for which our employees volunteer.
